B.A.D. Bracket & Screw for Matech BUIS
Drop-In Replacement Mounting Bracket & Screw for Standard Issue BUIS
Battle Arms Development’s Bracket & Screw for the Matech BUIS is a drop-in part that significantly increases the strength and rigidity of the standard issue Back-Up Iron Sight for the U.S. Army. The legacy bracket is a thin, cast part, prone to breaking if over-torqued or from field abuse. The BAD-BSM simply replaces the mounting bracket and screw with much sturdier hardware. The B.A.D. Bracket is precision machined from bar stock steel. The screw is stronger – approximately double the yield strength of the original. This is important because it acts as the recoil lug for the sight. The hole for the screw is countersunk, allowing the screw to be semi-recessed while the screw itself features a smaller Allen Head to discourage over-torquing. The top shelf of the bracket is extended to minimize canting..
If you are running a Matech BUIS, you owe it to yourself to replace the bracket with the BAD-BSM. It is cheap insurance to make sure your sight stays in fighting condition.
