Wilcox Binocular Bridge System: AN/PVS-14 (Dovetail)

Wilcox Industries designs some of the most sophisticated and user-centric night vision helmet mount systems available. The first reaction people tend to have is to balk at the price tag. Sure, it is expensive, but like everything: you get what you pay for. Wilcox helmet mounts are, literally, works of engineering art. They are designed with direct input from US Warfighters at the very tip of the sharp stick. These designs are refined until they reach perfection and are then masterfully crafted in Wilcox’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

The Wilcox Binocular Bridge System for the AN/PVS-14  Dual Goggle version, allows for operators to put two individual night vision monoculars together to form a single binocular system.  The combined dual tube system provides increased depth perception and situational awareness over a single tube unit.  The Binocular Bridge is completely modular and can be run in either a single or dual tube configuration.  This gives users the option to remove one of the units and provide it to a partner.

We offer the Bridge System in both single and dual configurations. The single configuration includes one Binocular Bridge PVS-14 arm which leaves one dovetail interface open to be used with a thermal monocular that has a dovetail shoe, to use both devices together on the bridge.

The Bridge System interfaces with standard Wilcox dovetail mounts such as the popular G24.  It allows the individual monoculars to be rotated out of the way, giving operators the option to run their binocular system like a monocular system.  Or, if they choose, both tubes can be pivoted up out of the way instead of flipping the goggle mount up.  Another benefit of this feature is the ability to lay the goggle flatter against the helmet shell surface when it is flipped up.  This is a huge benefit to operators who know how obtrusive a flipped-up goggle can be.  By pivoting the tubes flat against the helmet, the operator’s head is lower profile, greatly decreasing the possibility of damaging the goggles or getting hung up on an obstacle.

When used in binocular mode, the Bridge allows operators to set the inter-pupillary distance with a stop plate.  It is easily adjusted with a thumbscrew and prevents the optic from overshooting the eye when placed in operational position.

The Wilcox Bridge System for the AN/PVS-14 shares many of the same components as the Wilcox Bridge System for the SkeetIR and IR Patrol M250.  But, it adds the Helmet Mount Shoe with Auto-Off capability.  The Helmet Mount Shoe threads into the PVS-14 housing like a standard J-Arm and provides a dovetail interface that attaches to the Bridge System.  Like the Wilcox PVS-14 Arm with Auto Shut-Off, this shoe features a push button cable that plugs into the pivot button on the Wilcox Helmet Mount.  When the user pushes the pivot button, they will automatically press the Auto Shut-Off button to shut down the goggle’s power.  If the user does not want to engage this feature, the Auto-Off button can be stowed within the shoe (see photos).

Export of Wilcox Industries products is controlled by the U.S. Department of Commerce under Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the U.S. Department of State, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, in accordance with 22 U.S.C. 2778-2780 of the Arms Export Control Act (AECA) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). (22 CFR Parts 120-130) regulate Wilcox products.
