GENERAL QUESTIONS

We invite all U.S. citizens to participate in our training programs.

For Nightfighter 101 and 201 Training, the following are required:

  • A signed application and waivers (provided at the time of payment)
  • A copy of your ID
  • Either a copy of your CCW or a completed background check

For the “Try Before You Buy” program, the requirements are:

  • A signed application and waivers (provided at the time of payment)
  • A copy of your ID

At this time, TNVC only offers training to U.S. citizens.

TNVC, Inc. charges the full course tuition to your credit card at the time of enrollment. If you need to cancel your enrollment, you may request a refund by notifying TNVC, Inc. in writing. Refunds will be issued according to the following schedule:

nightfighter faq 2025

If you need to change your class date or location, please contact us at training@tnvc.com. We will do our best to accommodate your request if seats are available.

  • One free reschedule is allowed if the request is made outside the 3-week cancellation window.
  • Additional changes will incur a $50 administrative fee.
  • Reschedule requests made within the 3-week cancellation window will be subject to the cancellation fees outlined in our policy, regardless of the number of changes.

All required documents must be submitted no later than 3 weeks before the start of the class. Failure to meet this deadline may result in disenrollment and a refund of your tuition, allowing us to offer the spot to another student.

We strongly recommend against using a .22 carbine for the course. These firearms are generally not reliable enough for the demands of the class. Instead, we suggest using them for practice after completing the training.

The welcome letter, containing detailed course and location-specific information, is sent out the weekend before the training class.

Your local law enforcement agency typically provides background check services at a minimal cost. If they cannot meet your timeline, we also accept background checks from most reputable online providers.

This ensures that you are legally able to possess firearms to the best of your (and our) knowledge.

We’re always on the lookout for new venues for our courses. Please email us at training@tnvc.com, and we’ll provide you with our hosting requirements and next steps.

NIGHT FIGHTER 101 QUESTIONS

c Expand All C Collapse All

NIGHT FIGHTER 101 QUESTIONS

No. For safety and insurance reasons, non-enrolled individuals are not allowed on the range during training sessions. Besides, there wouldn’t be much for them to see!

However, they can meet you during a scheduled lunch break, as long as they leave the area before training resumes.

Training generally starts at 3:00 PM (1500) on the first night and runs until 2:00 AM (0200). On the second night, training typically begins at 4:00 PM (1600) and ends around 2:00 AM (0200).

Most classes start on Saturday and finish late Sunday night/Monday morning.

Yes, we do! We offer a variety of rental packages for our classes. However, quantities are limited for each session, so we recommend reserving early.

Additionally, a proportional percentage of your rental cost can be applied toward purchases at TNVC (e.g., goggle rentals can count toward buying goggles).

Yes! In fact, some of our instructors use the same goggle. You’ll do just fine with it!

At TNVC, we encourage you to use the gear you already have for the class. Our goal is to show you how to maximize your existing equipment and help you identify any changes to consider after the training. This way, you can make informed purchasing decisions.

If you’re looking to invest in gear before the class, we recommend:

  • An NVG-height optic mount for your carbine
  • A quality 2-point sling
  • A red dot sight for your handgun
  • A duty holster with retention

These items will enhance your training experience and ensure you’re well-equipped for the course.

Previous training is essential to ensure students are safe and confident in handling, manipulating, and employing their weapons when faced with the challenges of low- or no-light scenarios.

When the “dark monster” strikes (it’s real—trust us), even experienced shooters often struggle with basic tasks. The prerequisite training helps prepare students to handle these situations effectively.

We recommend completing a 2-3 day tactical carbine course that includes:

  • Weapon manipulations
  • Safety protocols
  • Marksmanship fundamentals
  • A focus on gunfighting and tactical mindset

This type of training ensures you’re prepared for Nightfighter 101.

Many of our host ranges offer training through other reputable instructors. We recommend contacting those ranges to inquire about available training opportunities.

If you’re having difficulty finding appropriate training, feel free to email our training staff at training@tnvc.com, and we’ll assist you in finding suitable options.

In compliance with ITAR regulations and TNVC policy, only U.S. citizens are eligible to participate in TNVC courses.

This is a physically demanding class, so students are encouraged to be in good physical condition. Additionally, basic tactical weapons handling skills are required.

Students must provide proof of one of the following prior to the course:

  • Successful completion of tactical carbine and pistol classes
  • Previous military or law enforcement training

To confirm if your prior training meets the requirements, please email training@tnvc.com.

NIGHT FIGHTER 201 QUESTIONS

The event typically starts around 4:00 PM, though the exact time may vary depending on the location.

No. For safety and insurance reasons, non-enrolled individuals are not permitted on the range during training sessions. Additionally, there isn’t much they’d be able to see during the exercises.

However, they’re welcome to meet you during a scheduled lunch break, as long as they leave the area before training resumes.

Training typically begins at 3:00 PM (1500) on the first night and ends around 2:00 AM (0200) on the second/third night.

  • On night 1, training runs from approximately 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
  • On night 2/3, it usually runs from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

Most classes start on Friday and conclude late Sunday night/Monday morning.

Our NLTA requires a 5.56mm or .223 caliber AR-style rifle.

  • Piston-driven rifles can be problematic with NLTA ammunition.
  • Rifles with a LAW-style folding stock adapter will not function properly with the NLTA bolt.

Our NLTA (Non-Lethal Training Ammunition) exercises are force-on-target, meaning we won’t be intentionally shooting at each other. Standard range safety gear is all that’s required for the class.

No. We provide the bolts, and ammunition will be available for purchase during the class. However, if you have your own NLTA (or similar) equipment and ammunition, you are welcome to use it.

In compliance with ITAR regulations, only U.S. citizens are eligible to participate in TNVC courses.

To enroll in Nightfighter 201, you must be one of the following:

  • A vetted and verified graduate of Nightfighter 101 or a comparable approved Night Vision course (e.g., Greenline Tactical)
  • An individual with military or law enforcement experience using night vision

If you have questions about meeting the prerequisite training requirements, please email us at training@tnvc.com.

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY QUESTIONS

c Expand All C Collapse All

TRY BEFORE YOU BUY QUESTIONS

No, at this time we do not offer gear sales at the event.

No, there is no shooting during the “Try Before You Buy” event. Empty weapons will be available so participants can test and observe optics and lasers.

We provide all necessary equipment, including night vision goggles, mounts, lasers, weapons, and helmets. However, you are welcome to bring your own helmet if you’d like to test how it works with the provided gear.

The event typically lasts 6-8 hours, depending on the class composition and the hosts’ capabilities.

We welcome all U.S. citizens to participate in our training. During registration, you’ll be required to provide a photo ID and complete the application and waivers.

Law Enforcement Training FAQs

c Expand All C Collapse All

Law Enforcement Training FAQs

While we strongly encourage Law Enforcement professionals to attend our open-enrollment courses for several benefits—such as exposure to non-LE shooters, a shared learning environment, and diverse discussions—there are instances where Law Enforcement-only classes are more practical.

These classes are beneficial when:

  • They can be scheduled during the duty week, reducing agency costs and minimizing officer time off.
  • They are held at locations where open-enrollment classes are not feasible, such as restricted police ranges.

The core topics, drills, and applications are the same in both courses. However, the LE-only course includes additional lecture discussions on Law Enforcement-specific topics such as:

  • Funding and resourcing equipment
  • Establishing agency policies
  • Developing an agency training program
  • Other relevant issues for law enforcement agencies

These topics are excluded from the open-enrollment course to maintain engagement for non-LE participants, but the hands-on training remains identical.

Locations and dates will be announced as classes and hosts are confirmed. We are open to training at various locations and venues.

If you’re interested in hosting an LE-only course, please email us at training@tnvc.com, and we’ll discuss potential opportunities.

Hosting an LE-only Nightfighter course involves two key aspects:

  1. Student Recruitment:
    • Hosts should assess the potential student base and generate interest to help fill seats.
    • TNVC will also promote the course to attract additional participants.
  2. Venue Requirements:
The venue must meet the same standards as any Nightfighter 101 class, including:

    • Ability to shoot in low and no-light conditions for extended periods
    • Range distances of 3m to 50m (100m preferred)
    • A minimum of 8 lanes for rifle and pistol use
    • Target stands
    • Pistol- and rifle-rated steel targets
    • At least four VTAC-style barriers
    • A classroom with seating for 20 personnel, tables, chairs, power, and A/V capabilities
    • A structure suitable for movement and dry fire practice (e.g., a shoot house, empty large building, etc.)

If you’re interested in hosting, email training@tnvc.com to discuss further details.

These courses are open to any currently serving and credentialed local, state, or federal law enforcement professionals.
