The Ops-Core version of the 4D Combat Liner is designed for use with Ops-Core helmets using the Ops-Core OCC Dial Fit-Band Suspension system in conjunction with the EPP brow pad and comes with a 1/2″ brow pad and nape pad. Ops-Core helmets with the Vented Lux Liner can use either pad set depending on desired thickness of brow pad. The ACH/ECH Version comes with a 3/4″ brow pad designed to be attached directly to the inside of the helmet shell and should be used for all other helmets that do not have an integral brow pad or if the integral brow pad is being removed. We cannot advise on compatibility with unlicensed Ops-Core replica helmets or other helmets that may share superficial resemblance to the Ops-Core FAST, however as a general rule of thumb–the Ops-Core Combat Liner should be used for helmets using the Occ-Dial system. All other helmets and configurations should use the ACH/ECH variant.***

These pads are definitely an improvement over the standard ACH 3/4″ pads. These pads feel like a memory foam sleeping mattress and provide excellent compression (not too much compression but enough to conform to your head without hitting the helmet shell). The standard issue ACH pads are like rocks compared to these.
However, I had 2 issues. First, one of the pads had a small seam separation between the antimicrobial fabric and the velcro attachment side. I didn’t want to deal with any return hassle, so I just sewed the small seam shut. All the other pads are just fine. Second, I’m towards the maximum limit for the ACH size small and am unable to use all 6 pads that come with the kit. Based on TNVC’s description “***The Standard Retrofit Combat Liner includes 1/2″ pads. The Deluxe Retrofit Combat Liner includes 3/4″ pads”, I thought this Zero G standard kit would have all 1/2″ pads instead of 3/4″ pads. However, the kit I received is P/N 4-4012, which is the same ACH/MICH Retrofit Pad Kit you can purchase directly from 4D Tactical (but TNVC’s price is cheaper as of the time of this review). The kit has all 3/4″ pads except (2) of the oval pads are 1″, which are too thick for me to use. If you fall more towards the middle of an ACH size, then this kit will probably work very well for you. However, if you’re towards the max limit of your helmet size, you might want to consider thinner 4D Tactical pad kits.
