The MOD-3 Bravo is a revolutionary night vision system. Until its release, you could either have a binocular or monocular. Using a bridge adapter to utilize two monoculars as a binocular has been done for years, but it has significant drawbacks. The weight of such a unit is over 800 grams, and they typically cannot be collimated. Many people enjoy using two monoculars when hunting. One on a neck lanyard for spotting, and one on their rifle. Yet most wish to avoid the cost of purchasing a binocular and two monoculars.
The MOD-3 Bravo overcomes these problems by utilizing Optical Pods that are waterproof, Nitrogen purged units that can be installed into either a monocular or binocular. Power is conducted to the intensifier tube and indicator LEDs by means of spring loaded, gold plated contacts. Even the springs are gold plated to prevent corrosion.
The Optical Pods can be assembled in the MOD-3 Bravo Binocular Bridge to form a full function binocular. A latching mechanism firmly holds the Optical Pods in place and is easily manipulated with one finger. Installing or removing the Optical Pods is accomplished in just a couple seconds.
The Binocular Bridge has the features you expect to find on a night vision Binocular. It has IP adjustment, dovetail mount, IR LED, IR LED “on” indicator lights in the viewing plane, and low battery warning.
The same style gold plated contacts that conduct power to the Optical Pods are also utilized in the Bridge assembly. These conduct power from the Optical Pods to a circuit board and eliminates the need for wires in the joint which moves as you change IP adjustment. This prevents any problems with wires breaking and failing in this area.
The IP adjustment (to match the distance between your eyes) is accomplished through IP screws such as the AVS goggles employ. The screws have ball detent ‘bumps’ as they are rotated, preventing vibrations from accidentally changing your settings. The MOD-3 Bravo Binocular can be collimated and weighs in at 618 grams.
The other half of the MOD-3 Bravo system is the MOD-3 Monocular Adapter. This adapts an Optical Pod into a full function monocular. It has the same circuitry as the Binocular Bridge which means you have a flood IR LED, IR “on” indicator, and low battery indicator. It uses the 3V lithium battery as well. It also accepts the IR Spot/Flood adapters like the PVS-7 goggles use.
Like the Binocular Bridge, the Monocular Adapter releases the Optical pod with the press of one finger, allowing instant changeover from monocular to binocular. The monocular housing is waterproof and has a side mount like a PVS-14, allowing you to use it as you would any other monocular with head and weapon mounts. The monocular is 75 grams lighter than a PVS-14.
The Bravo model is a product improvement over the legacy MOD3 in many ways. The female dovetail adapters that accept the optic pods are now made out of aluminum rather than polymer. This increases strength exponentially and allows for adjustment screws to remove any play in between the pods and bridge. Lanyard attachment points have been moved to the outer corners for easier access. The optic pod release levers have increased purchase surface for easier manipulation. The MOD3 Bravo Bridge now accepts a separate ANVIS Mount Adapter. The adapter (sold separately) simply screws in place of the dovetail. This will make the MOD3 Bravo completely compatible with ANVIS ball-detent mounts and remote battery packs.
The MOD3 Bravo is one of the most innovative goggle systems on the market. TNVC assembles the MOD3 with the highest quality and highest spec image tubes on the market. All MOD3 kits come complete with two full assembled Optic Pods with MILSPEC PVS-14 Objective and Eye Piece Lenses, One Binocular Bridge, and two Monocular Adapters. The Binocular bridge will attach to any dovetail night vision mount interface while the monocular adapters simply require the addition of any PVS-14 J-Arm to attach to a helmet mount.
The MOD3B system is available in different configurations. The standard version uses Automatic Brightness Control to automatically adjust the image brightness. It is also available with manual gain control – giving the user the ability to adjust the brightness. Next, the optics can be standard or C-Mount. C-Mount provides a quick-detach camera lens adapter interface. It allows the user to remove the lenses and attach other lenses for use in other applications such as photography.
**Please note: C-Mount MOD3B’s are for camera and telescope use only. They do not come with any provision for attaching to helmets, nor do they come with an objective lens assembly. The C-Mount is designed to interface with user-supplied camera or telescope lenses only.**

Such action on the part of TNVC, Inc. or Night Goggles, Inc. shall be the full extent of the company’s liability, and the customer’s sole and exclusive remedy. This warranty applies to all TNV and NGI-branded Night Vision Device housing systems, and furthermore warrants that all Image Intensifier Tubes will be free from manufacturing defects in material and workmanship under normal use for a period of 10 years after the original date of purchase. This warranty does not cover:
- Products that were used in other than normal and customary manner.
- Products that were misused.
- Products that were altered, modified, or repaired by the customer or a party other than TNVC, Inc.

TNVC, Inc. shall not be responsible for any defects or damage that in the company’s opinion, resulted from the mishandling, abuse, misuse, improper storage, or improper operation, including use in conjunction with equipment which is electrically or mechanically incompatible with or of inferior quality to the product, as well as failure to maintain the environmental conditions specified by the manufacturer. This includes using rechargeable batteries, storing the product with batteries installed, or battery compartment corrosion due to faulty battery. Warranty claims falling outside of the scope of these written warranty terms may incur repair, labor, and shipping fees charged to the customer.
Customer is hereby notified that operation of the equipment during daylight or under excessive light conditions may permanently damage the image intensifier tube. While all TNV and NGI systems are auto-gated, they are not able to withstand exposure to constant light including, but not limited to, light sources, weapon sights, laser radiation. Auto-gated Image Intensifier Tubes are designed to stand up to nighttime battlefield light conditions, but prolonged exposure to any light source will still cause damage.
