ADM Aimpoint Micro NVG Height Mount

The AD-T1-NV Mount is a one-piece mount that places the Aimpoint® Micro T1 / T2 / COMPM5 Optics at a 2.33″ centerline height. This height is ideal for those LE/MIL and self-reliant individuals who utilize night vision devices or protective masks, allowing them to comfortably use all available modes of NV capable optics. This mount also fits the Vortex SPARC, Primary Arms Micro Dot and similar red dots. It is precision machined from 6061 T6 aluminum and finished in hard coat T3 Mil-Spec anodize. It features the Patented QD Auto Lock™ Lever system to accommodate both in spec and out of spec rail systems.

There are times when you can’t go Active-IR with your laser while using night vision goggles.  Maybe your laser was damaged and rendered in-op in the field.  Maybe the bad guys have night vision and would be able to see your IR laser as easily as you do.  Or maybe, you’re “that guy,” who didn’t put fresh batteries in his laser and it doesn’t work when you need it.  Regardless, the best option is to immediately switch to a “passive mode” where you get your NVG-wearing head behind your weapon-mounted optic to stay in the fight.  This is a tricky proposition with legacy red dot mounts.  Even the taller “lower 1/3 height” mounts can make it hard to quickly acquire a sight picture through head-borne NVG’s.  Your best option is a super tall mount like the ADM NVG Height Mounts.

NVG height mounts were developed at the request of operators who recognized that a higher optic meant an easier time interfacing with NVG’s and gas masks.  It also is in line with the latest CQB “head’s up” philosophy.  Keeping your head up in a kinetic situation provides more situational awareness and increased reaction time to threats.  The taller mount keeps the optic closer to the operator’s head in this up position, making target engagement faster.  While this riser method has been utilized by Tier1 units specializing in CQB for years, other SOF units are starting to adopt the practice with new mount solutions.
