Cejay Engineering 2×2″ IR Reflective Blood Type Patch

IR Blood Type Markers are common place among U.S. Warfighters. They serve double duty, both as IR Reflective IFF Patches and as a quick reference Blood Type Marker for identifying an operator’s blood type during emergency field surgery. These small patches are available in all blood types. These patches produce a bright glow when an IR Illuminator is shown on them and viewed through night vision devices.

It is important for Warfighters to wear their blood type on their gear in more than one place. We recommend wearing having it marked on the torso and at least two limbs. While an emergency room or base hospital will run a person’s blood type before administering blood, these facilities are not always available in field surgery. These are the new design Blood Type Markers. They provide a more easily-recognizable type and more IR reflective surface. They are currently in use by U.S. Special Operations Forces.
