Daniel Defense Micro Mount

The Daniel Defense Micro Mount (Tall) is DD’s offering for the legendary Aimpoint Micro T-1 and H-1 optic. Designed to mount directly to the flattop upper receiver of a standard AR-15, the Micro Mount (Tall) provides the shooter with a lower 1/3 cowitness. Precision CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum and MILSPEC Type III hard coat anodized, the Micro Mount is as solid as they come.

But, what separates the Daniel Defense Micro Mount from the other mounts out there? For starters, it is the lightest tall Aimpoint Micro mount on the market, weighing in at 1.7 ounces! Those of us that have been there know that shaving off every bit of added weight to your weapon counts. Ounces equal pounds and pounds equal pain. The lack of excess material is evident in the design. You can tell that some real thought went into this. Another noticeable feature is the Daniel Defense “Rock & Lock” attachment system. The mount is hooked under one side of the Picatinny rail and rocked onto the other before being secured with two cross bolts that act as dual recoil lugs. There is no quick-detach feature for this mount. This unit was designed with a different concept in mind. While QD is a great feature for those that are constantly switching optics, many in the professional community are trending away from heavy throw levers and going with streamlined, lighter-weight mounts. Not only are throw levers heavy, but they also create snag points. Also, it is rare for a professional to remove his or her primary optic for any reason. Once their work gun is set up, it tends to stay that way unless the optic platform is completely replaced.
