Designed to fill the need for long range thermal detection, the Trijicon Electro-Optics (formerly IR Defense Corp) IR Patrol M250XR makes an ideal companion for any after dark surveillance application. The M250XR is equipped with a 60mm objective lens that provides a 3x optical magnification, 7° Field of View optic, and has 8x digital zoom which delivers up to 24x magnification with a focusable objective lens. The M250XR will detect man sized targets at over a mile.
The sensitive 12um Micron 640×480 thermal core combined with the Emagin OLED display, provides a clear and detailed image that is un-matched by anything on the market. The Trijicon E-O stadiametric ranging system has been installed in every unit for a simple solution to calculate target distance. The system comes with a built in tripod mount for a more stable platform and a mini picatinny rail for mounting lasers to the device. This is a great feature for working in teams where the spotter can detect a target through the thermal imager and then point it out to teammates not equipped with this technology. The system’s video output is ideal for recording to a DVR and the IR Patrol XR has a digital camera feature for saving images onboard.
The IR Patrol XR is one of the best solutions for handheld thermal users. Government users can apply the long range detection capability to field surveillance missions while maintaining a concealed position at longer distances. Hunters can use it to spot prey at super long distances without scaring them off. The 60mm objective lens provides a 3x optical magnification at full 640×480 resolution, before digital zoom is needed. Once digital zoom is initiated, users can end up with 24x!
