An overall improvement to the “Legacy” FAST BUMP Helmet from Ops Core, the new BUMP (SF) features many new upgrades and updates aligning with the FAST SF Ballistic Helmet.
The Ops-Core FAST BUMP (SF) Helmet is designed for less extreme environments where ballistic threats are not a priority, and the focus is on protection from blunt trauma forces, or where the primary need is for integration of mission-configured components. Designed to include all the revolutionary bells and whistles of the FAST series, the Bump (SF) does not disappoint. The shell is constructed of an injection-molded polymer (35% glass-filled Nylon) for an extremely rigid structure. There is no bending or warping often found in other polymer “skater-type” helmets. The second difference is in the night vision shroud. The FAST Bump (SF) features the same Gold Standard MBS (Modular Bungee Shroud) mounted to the shell as all FAST SF configurations. This truly innovative design feature creates an extremely rigid and stable platform for attaching night vision mounts. The Ops-Core FAST Bump (SF) retains all the features of the FAST family of helmets.
The Modular Bungee Shroud is designed to interface with standard NVG Mount Brackets. These include the Standard-Issue USGI Rhino Mount, Norotos RHINO2, Norotos AKA2 and INVG, Wilcox L4G22, L4G24, L4G01 L4G02, L4G21, L4G29, etc.
Like its cousins, the FAST Carbon Composite and FAST Ballistic Shells, the Bump (SF) utilizes the latest generation of the Ops-Core Vented Lux Liner and OCC-Dial suspension system. This system features an adjustable “fit-band” that tightens or loosens around the user’s head, providing more support and even weight distribution around the cranium. Instead of relying solely on position-able pads, the OCC-Dial makes contact in a complete loop around the head, thus eliminating “hotspots” of contact that can be annoying/painful during prolonged missions. The latest generation system has a better-knurled rotational knob for ease of use with gloves. The forehead padding has been greatly increased in depth and area from previous generations, adding to user comfort. The fit-band allows for better integration of ear-pro and comms headsets. It can be undone from the brow, allowing the headset to slide in between the shell and the fit-band. The rest of the OCC-Dial system is made up of modular breathable comfort pads that can be customized and repositioned for comfort without affecting impact performance. They are not affected by altitude, temperature, or moisture.
Below are some highlighted updates on the new FAST BUMP (SF):
- Blunt Impact Protection: Rigid polymer Super High Cut shell with eight vent holes to provide increased airflow and reduced heat Stress. This helmet meets ACH level and EN1385 level blunt impact protection. The Ops-Core FAST Bump family is the only non-ballistic helmet in its class to be rated IAW the U.S. Army’s ACH CO/PD 05-04 Standard for blunt impact protection, which exceeds most common sporting or industry standards for similar products.
- Suspension: Vented Lux Liner with Low Profile OCC-Dial and Head-Loc Retention System offering enhanced impact protection and unmatched stability and comfort
- Secure NVG Mounting: We have moved away from the in-molded plastic shroud and are using the field proven Modular Bungee Shroud, which is featured on the rest of our FAST product line
- Comfort / Stability: This helmet shares the same Vented Lux Liner and Low Profile Occ-Dial as the rest of the FAST product line which is a significant improvement over the legacy EPP system.
- PowerPath Rail: The FAST Bump (SF) is the first product to feature the new PowerPath ARC rail, which adds all of the features ARC shim as well as some additional cable management features in a lightweight monolithic part.
