The KVC D-Collar is a replacement for legacy PVS-14 Objective Lens Locking Rings.  The PVS-14 family of night vision monoculars creates a maintenance challenge for large agencies or units.  In the event that a PVS-14 needs to be opened for parts replacement, cleaning, or maintenance, the entire housing usually needs to be disassembled.  The standard Objective Lens Locking Ring blocks access to many critical maintenance areas.  The D-Collar replaces this troublesome ring.  Maintenance jobs can go from 30 minutes to a few seconds in an optical-friendly shop.  The D-Collar is a great time-saving upgrade to standard PVS-14’s at unit and agency levels.

But, what if you are not a unit armorer and simply own your own PVS-14?  Well, the titanium construction of the D-Collar makes for a more solid mounting point for ring-style adapters (like the KVC OSS or TNVC TM14).  Standard PVS-14’s feature a polymer locking ring that can bind or break under pressure from metal ring mounts.  The D-Collar will stand up to these ring mounts without any issue.  TNV/PVS-14’s are built with aluminum objective lens locking rings.  However, these are simply standard locking rings made from a different material.  The D-Collar provides the maintenance upgrade and dashing good looks of a two-tone titanium ring on black housing.
