The VIP Infrared Strobe is one of the most popular signaling devices in the Special Operations Community. It is used in many capacity and affixed operators’ gear in many different locations according to operational needs. One of the most popular places for an IR strobe beacon is the helmet because it increases the ability of the strobe to be seen from many different angles.
The VIP Strobe Helmet Mount provides a polymer cradle with a footprint for attaching a VIP. The back is contoured to match a MICH/ACH helmet shell and covered in hook Velcro for easy attachment to pile tape. The contour of the cradle is slight enough to make it easily attachable to most other helmet surfaces as well. Two small bolts secure the VIP beacon in the cradle. The system can also be used with or without a VIP Bezel Lock.
The precise fit of the VIP in the Helmet Mount and the smooth surfaces provide no snag hazards for parachute risers.
