The TNVC-DISCO32 DISCUS is a TNVC Exclusive Tan 499 version only available at TNVC

The recommended Ops-Core AMP headset version is the Connectorized variant. The connectorized variant allows the downlead cable to be removed. This is useful for removing the cable when not utilizing comms, for the ability to attach the downlead to left or right ear cups, and for ease of replacement if the cable is damaged.

DISCUS is an exciting new product from DISCO32 that effectively provides “COMMS for the Masses”. “Shoot, Move, and Communicate” is of extreme importance during night vision operations. DISCUS is a product that can serve as a primary source for communication or in an ancillary role to support other communications systems. It does this by leveraging the capabilities of the cellphone (EUD) to serve as the communication device with the cellphone connecting to DISCUS via Bluetooth. DISCUS is only compatible with military-style communication head sets such as the Ops-Core AMP and the 3M/Peltor COMTAC series equipped with a NATO U174 downlead and dynamic microphone.

DISCUS can be used independently as a single source for communication via the cellular network and can also take advantage of legal peer-to-peer encrypted voice communications using smart phone applications such as Signal or other applications. DISCUS will allow for the headset to be used simply as “ear buds” with your cellphone for making calls, listening to music, podcasts, and movies. When serving in an audio pass through role the headset does not need to be powered on.

Although the DISCUS can function independently, it can also be used in combination with radios utilizing U94/A push-to-talks (PTTs). The DISCUS plugs into the PTT as an in-line component, allowing for radio communications to pass through it, as well as allowing for simultaneous audio/communication from cellphone and radio.

DISCUS is a product for all users, whether that be the Professional using DISCUS as part of their PACE (Primary, Alternate, Contingency, and Emergency) Plan for communications, HAM licensed operators who want to incorporate it into their COMMS plan, or the recreational user who simply wants to listen to music or talk on the phone while maintaining hearing protection.

Simple single button for all operations (on/off, pairing, answering calls) and is powered by a single CR123A battery.

DISCO32 is a manufacturer and retailer of tactical communications enablers. Made in the USA.

DISCUS’ name has an interesting CIA backstory  WHY IS IT CALLED DISCUS?

DISCUS enables the communicator to make phone calls, listen to music or interact with other Bluetooth-enabled devices using a military-style communications headset, and speak through the headset microphone (if equipped). Leveraging SIGNAL or other applications, the DISCUS allows the communicator to make legal peer-to-peer encrypted voice communications utilizing their headset. DISCUS is fully compatible with cellphone-enabled two-way radio services like Zello

DISCUS is a stand-alone device engineered to work with any communication headset with NATO wired U-174 down-leads (COMTAC, AMP, OTTO, SAFARILAND).

    Bluetooth-enabled

DISCUS can operate independently of a PTT to provide Bluetooth connectivity to the headset (i.e., DISCUS can pair with a Bluetooth device without a two-way radio present). When DISCUS is coupled to a PTT connected to a two-way radio, DISCUS uses innovative technology to automatically adjust audio levels to prioritize radio traffic over audio received from a Bluetooth source. This allows you to simultaneously use your cellular phone (EUD) and your two-way radio on the same down-lead.

DISCUS is Powered by one CR-123 battery, which provides over 48 hrs of life.

If DISCUS loses power, your radio and push to talk will still function normally. Only the Bluetooth will cease to function.
