TNVC Exclusive Filmed Super Gain (FSG) Image Intensifier Tubes
American-Made Performance Without the Ultra-Premium Price Tag
TNVC Filmed Super Gain.
Brighter capability. Smarter value. Built for the real world.
TNVC is proud to introduce the TNVC Exclusive Filmed Super Gain (FSG) image intensifier tube platform, a U.S.-made Gen 3 auto-gated tube designed to deliver increased low-light capability, improved perceived brightness, and real-world performance at a more accessible price point.
For years, many night vision users have focused heavily on FOM numbers. While specs matter, experienced users know performance is about more than a single number on a data sheet.
FSG Changes the Conversation
Developed exclusively for TNVC in partnership with a leading U.S. image intensifier manufacturer, FSG tubes were created to meet a Federal requirement for improved low-light performance. The result is a modern filmed Gen 3 tube that provides meaningful capability where it matters most: in dark, shadowed, and low-ambient-light environments.
Traditional Gen 3 tubes often operate in the 40,000–80,000 fl/fc luminance gain range, with many averaging around 60,000–70,000 fl/fc.
TNVC FSG tubes operate at approximately 105,000 fl/fc luminance gain.
That increased amplification helps provide:
- Brighter perceived imagery
- Improved visibility in darker environments
- Better environmental processing
- Enhanced situational awareness
- Greater ability to see into shadows and low ambient light
This is not simply “turning up the brightness.” Increased luminance gain allows the user to process more visual information in degraded lighting conditions.
Modern tube manufacturing has also improved significantly, with cleaner performance and lower noise floors helping FSG deliver increased usable information without the drawbacks often associated with older high-gain systems.
Will FSG Be Noisier?
One of the biggest misconceptions about higher gain tubes is that they automatically produce excessive noise.
FSG tubes maintain comparable noise characteristics to standard gain tubes because Signal-to-Noise Ratio is measured the same way regardless of gain level. The difference is that FSG provides a noticeably brighter perceived image and improved environmental interpretation.
In manual gain housings, users can still adjust brightness to preference while retaining the expanded amplification capability of FSG technology.
Lifespan and Durability
FSG tubes do not sacrifice durability or service life compared to standard Gen 3 tubes. Manufacturer testing has previously been conducted at luminance gain levels up to 120,000 fl/fc without adverse effects on reliability or lifespan.
Where FSG Fits
TNVC believes FSG fills an important gap in the night vision market.
Not every user needs, or should have to pay for, ultra-premium, extremely high-FOM tubes to achieve strong real-world performance. Properly built 1600–2000 FOM tubes paired with increased luminance gain can deliver extremely capable results for the majority of users.
FSG allows those tubes to punch above their weight class.
This helps users preserve budget for other critical capability enhancers, including thermal augmentation, handheld thermal monoculars, improved helmet systems, lasers, illumination tools, and training.
Because capability is a system, not just a spec sheet.
Built Here. Supported Here.
TNVC has long supported domestic manufacturing and the American night vision industrial base. The FSG platform reflects that commitment by offering a legitimate American-made alternative that delivers real performance, real support, and real-world affordability.

Export of Night Vision Equipment or related accessories (such as manuals) is strictly regulated by the US Department of State in accordance with the guidelines of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). It is a major crime to ship or carry US manufactured night vision devices outside the borders of the United States, punishable by fines and prison sentences. Ignorance of these regulations will not hold up in court. By purchasing night vision equipment from TNVC, you attest that you will not attempt to export or carry this night vision equipment outside the borders of the United States. Also, it illegal to allow a non-US Citizen to look through US Gen3 Night Vision Devices, even on US soil. Again, this is a crime punishable by fines and prison sentences.
