***ZERO G 4D Lux Liner Replacement Pad Kit is now available for the FAST SF – HERE ***

The commercial version of the USSOCOM Special Operations Forces Personal Equipment Advanced Requirements Family of Tactical Headborne Systems (SPEAR FTHS) ballistic helmet, the Ops-Core FAST SF Super High Cut Ballistic Helmet is an high performance evolution of the legendary Ops-Core FAST Maritime, and features the same “Super High Cut” profile as the Legacy FAST Maritime while offering increased protection and comfort, and with a host of new features.

The helmet shell is made of a hybrid composite of the most advanced Carbon, Unidirectional Polyethylene and woven Aramid, and offers an 8% weight reduction from the Legacy FAST Maritime, while still offering critical coverage over the rear occipital lobe without load carrier interference, and optimizing weight distribution for increased stability, integration, balance, and improved comfort. As anyone who has ever worn a combat helmet for long periods of time knows, this is a huge benefit. Every ounce matters, especially when you are running NVG’s cantilevered off your head.

SF DATA SHEET

The FAST SF Super High Cut Ballistic also offers a host of new features:

  • Improved Vented Lux Liner standard on all models, this molded liner features proprietary recessed groove, accommodating over-the-head communications headsets with no interference or user discomfort, and ability to doff and don helmet without removing the headset.
  • Base of helmet features expanded polypropylene (EPP) liner, offering enhanced impact protection, and molded-in vent holes are integrated with the shell to provide increased airflow and reduce heat stress.
  • Super High Cut Skeleton Rails offer lower profile with a 30% weight reduction from FAST MT Super High Cut Rails. The Skeleton Rails feature increased tie down points for mission critical equipment, as well as a slotted spacer shim that allows the mounting of accessories such mandibles without taking up valuable space on the helmet rails, while retaining all of the functionality of the Legacy ARC rail.
  • The FAST SF’s Shell is drilled for the standard MARSOC/ WARCOM three-hole pattern, and comes standard with the new Lightweight Modular Bungee Shroud (MBS) which reduces snag hazards and interference. Carabiner clips improve NVG retention and stability.

The FAST SF is also available with three different suspension/retention options:

OCC Dial: The legacy OCC Dial was a truly revolutionary concept in helmet stabilization.  The rear-mounted dial allows the user to adjust tension of the fitband around the circumference of the head.  Coupled with the excellent Ops Core Chin Strap, the OCC Dial System provides unparalleled stability when wearing night vision goggles.

Worm Dial: No longer available

PLEASE NOTE: The Ops Core FAST SF Ballistic Helmet is Body Armor and is subject to any and all restrictions concerning civilian ownership of body armor. Body armor cannot be owned or sold to persons convicted of a felony. Body armor cannot be exported outside the United States. Buyers are required to fill out and sign a body armor waiver or show current U.S. Military or Law Enforcement I.D. Residents of Connecticut are prohibited from buying Body Armor (unless the buyer is a police officer, Police Department, or military). We cannot ship to Connecticut, or even accept credit cards billed there for body armor sales.

**PLEASE NOTE**

OPS CORE FAST BALLISTIC HELMETS ARE CURRENTLY ON BACK-ORDER.  THESE ARE SEMI-CUSTOM HELMETS AND ARE IN HIGH DEMAND BY TIER 1 SPECIAL OPERATIONS UNITS WHO ARE ALSO WAITING ON THEIR HELMETS.  CURRENT LEAD TIMES ARE AVERAGING 16 WEEKS, BUT MAY BE A BIT LONGER.

IF YOU WANT TO GET A FAST BALLISTIC HELMET, YOU MUST PLACE THE ORDER WITH US AND BE PATIENT.  WE RECOMMEND NOT “WAITING UNTIL THEY COME IN BEFORE ORDERING” BECAUSE HELMETS ARE SPOKEN FOR BEFORE WE EVEN GET THEM ON THE SHELF.  ALL OPS CORE DEALERS ARE IN THE SAME POSITION.  WE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND FRUSTRATION, BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.

I used to own the Ops-Core Maritime which this model replaced. This new helmet is incredible. Lighter, stronger, better. If you can swing the cash and can wait 4 months for it you won’t be disappointed. This BALLISTIC helmet is lighter than most motorcycle helmets.

Running comms? I wired in my Peltor Comtac 3’s inside the helmet with no problems.

My only complaint is that my USGI Rhino mount is loose and sloppy in the new mount when it locked in place right and tight with the older style mount. Yes, I probably should upgrade from the Norotos rhino and j-arm, but it’s always been good enough for me previously.

The lux liner is great, but you’ll likely find yourself removing padding to make it fit your head better. Compared to a MICH or LWH with whatever USGI pads we were issued this thing is like a pillow in comparison. Hotspots will be minimized and it dries out fast.

If you are issued a FAST or Maritime this might not be worth buying BUT if you are still issued a MICH or LWH then you need this helmet.

Now, I’d also recommend this to civilians such as law enforcement or hunters as well. If you are trying to stack the bodies of hogs or coyotes but you might also be a little older, heavier, and generally not as green, lean or mean as you once were you will appreciate the weight savings and hey, unlike a bump helmet which this thing weighs about as much as…you have ballistic protection just in case!

Buy this with confidence. It is worth it.
